November 20: World Children’s Day

Cover publication
© European Union

November 20th is a special date dedicated to children around the world. This day celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, fundamental documents that protect their rights. It is an occasion to remember that children’s rights are non-negotiable: education, protection, and health are not privileges, but rights.

This day is not just a celebration, but a call to action to improve the world for children. It is an opportunity to reflect on how we can contribute to creating a better world for our young citizens.

This year’s theme is ‘Listening to the Future’. Check out the EU Children’s participation platform, a safe space for children and teenagers to have their say on the European laws and policies which concern them.
