9 May 2026 - we celebrate Europe Day!

But what is Europe Day and why do we celebrate it?

On this day, the 9th of May 1950, the former French foreign minister Robert Schuman signed the Schuman Declaration. This document laid the foundation of a united Europe, as we know it today and remains as relevant 76 years later. It heralds an era of integration, peace and cooperation.

How to celebrate it?

There are plenty of ways to take part in Europe Day. You might join an event in your town, participate in activities or extend your European knowledge. Whether you’re a student, teacher or an interested citizen, there are fun activities for everyone! Check what Europe Day website and the Learning Corner have to offer!

So get involved, have fun and learn something new!

Happy Europe Day!
