Fighting fake news!

The coronavirus pandemic has been accompanied by a massive wave of false and misleading information. To help fight disinformation the EU works in close cooperation with online platforms to limit the spread of content that is false or misleading, and encourages them to take down content that is illegal or could cause physical harm. It also works with fact-checkers and researchers to identify fake or misleading news and set the record straight.
