A new round of consultations begins this summer under Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which kicked off earlier this month in July 2026.
Young people can register and find out more through their National Youth Council.
Post-summer lesson plan ideas? Teachers can show this video and also organise classroom consultation activities in cooperation with their National Youth Council, giving students the opportunity to discuss important issues and contribute their views.

From 1 July 2026 to 31 December 2026, Ireland will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, a key role that rotates every six months between EU countries.
