How many languages can you say hello in? On 26 September, Europe celebrates the European Day of Languages – a chance to discover the fun of languages and celebrate the many ways they bring us together.
The EU has 24 official languages, but Europe's linguistic diversity goes far beyond that. Learning a language can help you discover new cultures, make connections, build confidence, and open doors to new opportunities.
There are lots of ways to join in: try a language game, take part in a language cafe, explore a new language or organise an activity at school or in your community.

El concurso anual de traducción a escala de la UE invita a los estudiantes de enseñanza secundaria nacidos en 2009 a poner a prueba sus competencias lingüísticas. Los participantes pueden traducir entre cualquiera de las 24 lenguas oficiales de la UE, eligiendo entre el impresionante número de 552 combinaciones lingüísticas posibles.
