Being online helps us connect, learn and have fun—but too much screen time can affect our mental and physical health. For young people, finding a healthy balance is especially important.

This month, we’re encouraging open conversations about life online, including through the European Mental Health Week, which took place from 4–8 May 2026.

Creating a safer online world is a shared responsibility. The EU is working to reduce risks like harmful content and addictive design—but your choices matter too.

Want to support your students or children?

You can download and print out ready-to-go posters via our dedicated webpage to help young people stay in control of their digital habits.
