Find out with the Juvenes Translatores translation contest if you are one of them!
The annual EU-wide translation contest invites secondary school students born in 2008 to showcase their language skills and creativity as they translate between any of the 24 official EU languages.
The number of schools invited to enter the contest in each country is the same as the number of seats it has in the European Parliament – 720 in total across the EU. Each year since 2007, over 3000 teenagers have a go at being a translator for a day. The task involves translating one page of text, and they can choose any of 552 language pairs available among EU official languages!
The 27 winning students — one per EU member state — will win a 3-day trip to Brussels in March 2026, with an award ceremony to celebrate their victory.
🗓️ Mark your calendars: registrations run from 2 September (12 noon) to 14 October (12 noon) 2025 (Central European Time). Check out the JT website for more details!
